Customers Review This is my first new laptop in several years, and my first Toshiba. When I ordered this, I didn't realize it was the 25th anniversary edition, and about the only feature this doesn't have is the backlit keyboard. It has an eco-friendly mode to minimize energy use, the ability to turn on and off the touchpad if you're using a mouse, and a light for the touchpad to indicate if it is off or on. It also has a hardrive lock out feature where it will lock if it detects movement in the computer to prevent damage to it. I'm still playing with the face recognition software, that is about the only thing I have had any problems with so far -more user induced than the computer. It has a gorgeous picture and plays digital videos like a charm, with an HDMI cable it transfers the image to my tv without losing image or sound quality. It was great to have on a last minute trip to help keep my son occupied watching movies. The SD card slot in the front is great, I had to borrow someone's camera and pulled all of our pictures off their SD card and can go back to edit them once I get the chance.
I am also liking the Windows 7 operating system so much better than Vista, and the Toshiba software add ins make for quick navigation back to what I use the most often. For the size of this laptop, I was pleasantly surprised at its weight- much lighter than my old Dell. I'm also loving the i5 processor for when I am editing multiple large documents in both Word and Adobe= no hang up like on my tower. |
